TAS: Woman tells court cricket umpire fondled her

A woman on the verge of tears has told the Tasmanian Supreme Court that international
cricket umpire STEVE RANDELL indecently assaulted her in a friend's bedroom in 1982.

The woman, who was then an 11-year-old, said Mr RANDELL fondled her and she said she was
terrified and felt sick and dirty.

The woman said that later in the year Mr RANDELL had rubbed the inside of her thigh as she
watched a video in her school library.

Mr RANDELL, 43, has pleaded NOT guilty to 18 charges of indecent assault against 10 girls
in 1981 and 1982, when he was teaching at a school in Burnie in Tasmania.

The trial is continuing.
