ADELAIDE, Dec 15 AAP - The Supreme Court appeal against widespread suppressions in
the bodies-in-the-barrels murder case was today delayed until next Tuesday.
Counsel for the four men charged over the killings argued that they had not had enough
time to prepare to defend the suppression orders issued in the Adelaide Magistrates Court
by Magistrate David Gurry.
Supreme Court Justice Brian Martin agreed, delaying the appeal until next week.
The media wants Justice Martin to lift the suppression orders covering the opening
by the prosecution and the evidence given so far by pathologists to the committal hearing,
which began this week.
The committal hearing was due to continue in the Magistrates Court today.
Three men have been charged with 10 murders - Robert Joe Wagner, 28, of Elizabeth Grove;
John Justin Bunting, 34, of Craigmore; and Mark Ray Haydon, 42, of Smithfield Plains.
James Spyridon Vlassakis, 20, of Craigmore, faces five murder charges.
None of the four accused entered pleas.
