Fed: Sham Schwarzenegger sucks in stations
Two Sydney radio stations have broadcast live interviews today with ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER-- or at least, someone who sounded just like him.
Unfortunately, this SCHWARZENEGGER was a fake and radio stations 2UE and 2GB have joinedothers in the US, Britain and Ireland in putting him to air.
Los Angeles man JOSH THOMPSON persuaded the Sydney broadcasters to interview him todayby pretending he wanted to test his media mettle before properly launching his campaignto become the Californian governor.
2UE's JOHN STANLEY and his 2GB counterpart CHRIS SMITH both put the man they calledMr SCHWARZENEGGER on air.
Talk of politics dominated the interviews until the impersonator expressed heavy-handedpraise for the Australians' international renown.
That triggered alarm bells and the interviews soon collapsed.
Both radio stations claim they suspected Mr THOMPSON from the start, saying they decidedto interview him for a laugh.
Mr THOMPSON'S told AAP he regards that as "baloney".
